Sulphur Springs Union School District Techies
A visit to Sulphur Springs Union School District classrooms is a visit into education on the cutting edge where teachers and students are utilizing state-of -the -art technology to learn and teach. iPads are being used by teachers and students to enhance instruction and create an interactive environment where students can explore and participate in learning from anywhere in the room. SMART Boards are being used as a window to the world as they are allowing teachers to take students on virtual field trips, deliver interactive hands-on-learning, and even simulate science experiments digitally. Hover cams (digital document cameras) are being used to walk students through everything from math problems to intricate art projects. Technology, in the hands of our well-trained teachers, is truly enriching the learning experience of our students.
The most exciting impact of technology integration in the Sulphur Springs Union School District is the creativity we are seeing from our students. Students are showing proficiency in math by recording their own step-by-step screen recording of a math problem and how to solve it on iPads. To show their expertise in English Language Arts some students are creating their own iBooks. Finally, to exhibit their expertise in social studies, some sixth graders are working in groups to create Keynote presentations to share with their classmates. It truly is an exciting time to be a student in the Sulphur Springs Union School District!
