Here are some interesting stats to think about over the summer. Do you fall into one of these categories?
• 28 percent of Americans need counseling but only a third of them actually get it. Seeking out help to improve your life and mind is not a weakness; it is courageous and smart.
• Six pounds a year can be lost by taking a 10 minute walk five times a week and taking stairs instead of elevators. A little motivation can make a big difference.
• 10 percent of all Americans report having some sort of sleep problem that affects their productivity and enjoyment of life. Even mild insomnia, restless legs, apnea, terrors, etc. can make us tired enough to slow down every area of life.
• 90 percent of all smokers have a strong desire to quit. Only 25 percent are actually trying.
• 47 percent of all Americans are concerned about the effects of stress on their life. Stress causes tension that leads to serious health issues and prevents happiness.
• 26.2 percent of Americans experience mild to severe depression that affects their life. Of those who seek treatment, 82 percent are successfully treated.
• 60 percent of Americans are dissatisfied with their job/career, 57 percent say they would like a career change but less than three percent actually do it.
• 40 percent say they could improve their family/love relationships, half of those say they don’t know how, and 100 percent say they would if they could. 50 percent of Americans are dissatisfied with their sex lives.
What do all of these stats have in common? Absolutely every one of them is treatable through counseling and life coaching. The success rate to change your life and be happier is 88 percent when working with a qualified guide. My final statistic for you is one I am very proud of: 98 percent of my own clients report that their sessions have been “helpful to very helpful” and 88 percent have completely resolved the issues they came in for. These include sleep problems, smoking, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, drug addictions, behavioral addictions, alcoholism, sexual issues, relationships, career success etc. 20 percent of Americans will try to improve their lives this summer. What percentage will you be in?Â
