In order to offer the best results in cataract surgery today an ophthalmologist needs to be experienced with implanting premium lenses and also be an experienced laser vision correction surgeon.  Today’s lens implants offer the ability to correct near-sightedness, far-sightedness or astigmatism.  Multifocal lens implants such as the ReStor or Tecnis multifocal lenses allow one to have both distance and reading vision without glasses.  Low or moderate amounts of astigmatism can be corrected at the same time as cataract surgery but high degrees of astigmatism typically require the use of laser vision correction after cataract surgery.  We are fortunate to have a state-of- the-art laser for vision correction right here in Santa Clarita!
