Santa Clarita Public Library Annual Report for 2014-2015 Showcasing an amazing year of growth and success
This year the Santa Clarita Public Library successfully completed its fourth year of operation delivering Library services and programs to benefit residents of the Santa Clarita community. More information and statistics about these programs and services can be read in the recently released Annual Report for Fiscal Year (FY) 2014-2015.
The Santa Clarita Public Library Annual Report provides a summary of Library statistics and showcases successful programs and services that took place during the fiscal year.
Some of the Library’s leading statistics in the past year included:
• Receiving 894,329 customer visits at its three branches.
• Receiving 614,268 online customer visits to the Santa Clarita Public Library website.
• Circulating 1,500,557 books and materials.
• Reserving 216,173 computer sessions for library patrons to use a public computer.
• Hosting 60,848 patrons at various library programs.
“We’ve had remarkable growth at the Santa Clarita Public Library this past year. We’ve added more resources, engaging services and educational programs for our library patrons,” commented Mayor Marsha McLean. “Libraries aren’t just about books; we’ve also been focusing on increasing our technology offerings. We’ve expanded our main digital collection website and added new services such as Flipster and Overdrive which allows access to digital magazines and streaming video,” she added.
The report also highlights the support the Santa Clarita Public Library has received from the Friends of the Santa Clarita Public Library. During fiscal year 2014-15, the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library raised $47,314 through a variety of fundraising activities. All of the funds have been used to support library materials and sponsor activities, such as the Summer Reading Program and free author events.
