The Canyon Theatre Guild Brings Forth the Wonder of the Season – A musical take on a well-loved holiday tale
For many, Christmas isn’t Christmas without revisiting the well-loved tale of the penny-pinching miser, Ebenezer Scrooge and the awakening of his long forgotten festive spirit. This year the Canyon Theatre Guild will present a spectacular musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’s most well-known story, A Christmas Carol. The show brings the atmosphere of Victorian Christmas traditions to the stage and keeps true to the original text, with a cavalcade of colorful Dickensian characters and a ghostly foursome of guardians. It draws strongly on the themes of time, family and society’s ills, reminding us that we must use our time wisely, that we may have but a moment to make the right choices.
What makes this production truly unique and vibrant is the addition of dazzling and joyous music and song. It breathes new life into this treasured story and lets us see the wonder of the message in a new and deeply felt way. With an array of songs from the unsettling to the uplifting, heartwarming and touching, this version of A Christmas Carol takes us on a very special journey to where the true meaning of the holiday season is found.
So, take a trip to the Canyon Theatre Guild this season to see this unique version of an old classic. It has something for everyone, both young and old and is surely a perfect way for the whole family to get into the Christmas spirit.
