Santa Clarita Ballet Presents “The Nutcracker Ballet”
On December 19 and 20, the Santa Clarita Ballet brings the magic of Christmas to the College of the Canyons Performing Arts Center for its 21st rendition of The Nutcracker Ballet. Filled with vibrant color, dazzling stage design, and touches of humor, The Nutcracker Ballet is the perfect way to ignite your holiday spirit and be swept away by some of the most accomplished young dancers in the Santa Clarita Valley.
The Nutcracker Ballet transports audiences of all ages to a land of wonderment and delight so enchanting you will check your shoulders for a dusting of snow as you leave the theater. Professional guest dancers, including the world-renowned Russian dance troupe Alexander Klinin & Company, mingle seamlessly with the Company’s most accomplished ballerinas to create visions of sugar plums that do much more than dance in your head- they literally swirl before your eyes.
Joining this breathtaking troupe are heart-stealing members of the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy who endear audiences again-and-again as adorable mischievous mice, silly cartwheeling gumdrops, and their very naughty-but-nice nanny, and serenely floating treetop angels. The quick pace and light-heartedness of Santa Clarita Ballet’s interpretation of this Christmas classic is the perfect way to introduce even the youngest members of the family to the beauty of ballet.
It just would not be Christmas without seeing The Santa Clarita Ballet’s rendition of The Nutcracker Ballet and hearing the nostalgic sounds of Tchaikovsky, but tickets to these shows quickly sell out. Tickets go on sale October 1. Good boys and girls will secure their seats early, or risk lumps of coal in their stockings come Christmas day. Please call the Santa Clarita Ballet Company directly for ticket purchases. Tickets are unavailable through the COCPAC.
Saturday performances of The Nutcracker Ballet are at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday performances are at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Santa Clarita Ballet Box Office is located at 26798 Oak Avenue. Tickets are not sold through the COC Performing Arts Centre.
