Homes Wish List For 2016!
The home trends wish list for 2016 that home owners and builders are paying special attention to and are stepping up to meet the demands are in eco-friendly minded homes.
Being sure to pay special attention in the home’s design aspect and in the style, home owners prefer the health-minded building practices of the home as well as, the interior/exterior floor plans, the home’s comfort and technology and, last but not least, the front porch are just a few on this year’s wish list.
The eco-friendly homes are offering features that promote energy efficiency and a healthier indoor space. Homeowners are searching for interior spaces that help to promote living spaces to encourage and promote relationships in the family without separating the family unit. This trend with homeowners will continue to incorporate more eco-friendly options in newer homes and remodels. You will begin to see energy efficient appliances in new homes or remodels that help save on energy consumption and on your energy bills, locally sourced materials for counter-tops that help in supporting the eco-friendly efforts, or getting your home the criteria to get a Green Home Certification that will increase the value of your home while saving energy and providing years of cost savings and efficiency in running your home. Baby boomers are pushing a big part of this trend!
Baby boomers are at the age where they are retiring and according to AARP, the demand for home health technology is expected to increase. With that in mind, the adult children and older adults are thinking about their own age and that of their parents and what this could possibly mean for the entire family! Of course, the aging parent and adult children are observant and concerned about the capability and means of their parents to continue living independently. The home health technology movement which consists of digital and electronic systems that allow you access to monitor the various aspects of your parent’s health at home thus giving older Americans the freedom to live in their home on their own, at longer times than would be normally advised. With all this being said many homeowners are seeking out design ideas that will accommodate special needs for now and in the future for the aging parent and keeping in the eco-friendly theme. Lots going on in 2016! Get started now on the home of your dreams!
