Pinetree Community School
Pinetree Community School has an outstanding enrichment program that all K – 6th graders participate in. Students enjoy theatre, music and art weekly.
Sue Kay, Theatre Teacher
“Enrichment is absolutely fabulous for kids. It teaches them lifetime skills like public speaking, confidence, how to interact with people, express body language, and communicate. So it’s giving real life skills in addition to the dramatics in theatre arts.”
“Theatre Enrichment is great because…
…it really brings out your real you. You feel free and really let your creative side out.” – Joyh
…we get to express ourselves. We also have so much fun and we get to learn things we would learn if we were in theatre.” – Ava
…I like how we do different things, like we read a story and then we act it out. I’m so glad we have enrichment!” – Ayha
Colin Burgess, Music Teacher
“Students are surprised by the freedom they experience when creating and writing music. An eye opener for them is when they are able to use math in music in real-life situations, for example, when writing their own rhythms using quarter and eighth notes.”
“Music Enrichment is great because…
…our teacher teaches us music symbols and lets us play the instruments. It is just tons of fun!” – Alyssa
… It is great because you get to play different songs on the different instruments.” – Max
…you get to learn how to play cool new instruments that you have always wanted to play.” – Morgan
Sue Nave, Visual Arts Teacher
“Their paintings are like creative fingerprints. They are able to explore their creative side and build self-confidence through expressing themselves through the medium of visual arts. It also helps them to develop social skills when discussing their projects to their peers.”
“Arts Enrichment is great because…
…we get to experience things that other kids are not able to. In art we get to draw, paint, and really have fun with friends. With art you may find something that you really love and enjoy.” – Harry
…it is something fun you can do in school that is not just focusing on your academics. It is something that everyone can do, and it doesn’t have to be a perfect masterpiece.” – LeOra
…in art, you get to use your imagination to make anything you want from portrait paintings to massive statues. And the best part is that your imagination is limitless!” – Matthew.
