SCV’s Teenage Talent – Part three in a five part series
There is so much talent in Santa Clarita, and much of it goes unnoticed. SCV teens are at a creative peak, writing their own music and broadcasting it to the world. By using platforms like SoundCloud and YouTube, many young musicians have grown a fan base, which could eventually lead to their big break. The music ranges from indie to metal and everything in between. These artists are on the way up, so catch them while they’re close to home.
The Bad Habits
Playing everything from smooth jazz to funk to blues, The Bad Habits captivates listeners of all ages.
The band consists of four teenage members: Stephen Celi on lead guitar, Michael Kirby on drums, Diego Rumor on bass, and Piolo Sanchez on the tenor saxophone.
All of the members come from different musical backgrounds and tastes, pulling inspiration from John Coltrane, Cream, Bob Dylan and The Beatles. As a result, a wide array of talent ensues. Each member is also a part of the Saugus High School Jazz Band, adding another source for song ideas.
The band has played gigs at Vincenzo’s Pizza and hopes to continue to share their sound with Santa Clarita at future shows.
