Super Bowl Sunday Food and Football!
Super Bowl 50 is coming up on Sunday, February 7. This is the day for party food and finger foods and football! If you and your friends are ready to throw down on the big game day and are thinking about what to have on hand, here are some simple but satisfying suggestions.
First of all, get your game plan together. Is the day going to be spent watching football with just family, or do you have friends and family coming over? How many people do you expect and will you be making all the food or having everyone bring an appetizer or potluck dish?
First, remember to have a theme of the party, football, in as many ways as possible. And since everyone wants to be near the food, set up snack centers in different areas of your house or living room. Be sure to include both savory and sweet treats that will appeal and please everyone’s palate.
What would most people like to eat for Super Bowl Sunday—whatever is in the mix you better include chicken wings, everyone’s favorite! This all-star player seems to always make it to the big game. Who doesn’t love a good wing?
They can be fixed in so many ways and styles from hot and spicy to honey glazed with sriracha sauce, Greek style with tzatziki sauce, and the list can literally go on and on. The back-story on this delicious finger-licking appetizer goes like this. It all started in upstate New York at a bar in 1964, three years before the very first Super Bowl and they have been served at Super Bowl parties ever since!
These classics can be fried or baked and they can be served with blue cheese dressing or your favorite creamy dressing like ranch dressing or be adventurous and make up one your family and friends will surely like. The ultimate, classic party food starts with a blank canvas and can range from a variety of flavorings to Buffalo style, lemon pepper, hoisin sauce, etc.
Remember to add your other favorite foods on game day, or better yet, let us do the work for you.
