Support Our Seniors at Celebrity Waiter Dinner!
It is time, once again, for the best party of the year in the Santa Clarita Valley! The annual Celebrity Waiter Dinner is the main fundraiser of the year for our Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center. It is a themed event, being held at The Hyatt Valencia on Saturday, February 27 at 6 p.m. This year’s theme is “Fun & Games”, which can include board games, sports, casino, anything your imagination can muster. Tables (sponsors) pick their theme, decorate their table, and dress accordingly. There is entertainment, a live auction, and dancing.
This year Comfort Keepers In-Home Care is proud to be the presenting sponsor, and sponsorships, tables and tickets are still available. Additional information can be obtained by going to www.celebritywaiter.com.
Rachelle Dardeau, (executive director) Linda Alexander-Lieblang, (associate executive director) and SuzAnn Nelsen (director of supportive services) head up an amazing team that provides an array of services at our Senior Center. The center is a hub of socialization for our active seniors with activities and classes, Supportive Services for our seniors in need, and a licensed adult day health care. The center’s Home Delivered Meals program is a vital service that assures that our homebound seniors get a nutritious meal. In some cases, when the driver delivers the meal, it is the only human contact they have.
The best schoolroom in the world is at the side of a senior. To sit at the feet of those who walked before us, the trailblazers who paved our pathways. To hold the hands that built America, the bridges and highways, the schools and communities.
Well now those hands are wrinkled and sore, the feet less steady. The hands that shaped our country are now frail, and some need our help. So please join us to raise funds for our seniors. If you are unable to attend, you may make a contribution on the website as well.
