Break Down Those Walls!
What is big on the market these days with home design trends? So many things are on the horizon starting with living rooms and/or great rooms and open floor plans. By breaking down the walls you can see from the front of the house to the back of the house which homeowners are wanting. And, the living room is still what homeowners look for in wanting a peaceful, respite for the family. With the open floor plan your family is connected with no restrictions. The family dining room is back as well. Families who like to entertain want a designated space for special gatherings and for those special meals or holidays with the family is very important to homeowners.
Kitchens will always be the center of the hub of the family home. There are many trends in kitchens this year from two-tone cabinetry that are white or neutral for a clean, timeless feel. Lower cabinets use various tones and deeper colors to take your kitchen in two different style directions. Deep kitchen drawers are big on the market. They help in the ease of storage and are a top priority during a kitchen remodel. The deep kitchen drawers are replacing the lower kitchen cabinets and have been for some time now and they are only getting better and more affordable. The divider inserts in these drawers help the homeowner to organize any shape and size of pans, dishes or utensils. With many options to choose from deep corner drawers and under range tops and kitchen sinks have added a whole new outlook!
Another big trend for kitchen and bathrooms are extra-large format tiles which are making an appearance in 2016 and they have been used for some time now but now they are extra-large, like 31-inch x 71-inch.
The separate bidet unit in the bathroom is another emerging trend! The bidet was never an item that took off in the States but since manufacturers began creating the combination bidet and toilet units have definitely been catching on. Statement mirrors in bathrooms are the new statement in bathrooms. These mirrors are large wood-framed, backlit and modern and ornate with vintage styles that cheer up any bathroom.
Other trends which are making an impact are increasing the overall size of the home or rooms, greater pantry space for storage, double islands, wine storage and refrigeration, computer desk/electronics charging station and drinking water filtration systems, as well as, energy efficiency from LED lighting and induction cooking to sensor faucets.
