City Presents Arts Master Plan
On January 20, the City of Santa Clarita and the Cultural Planning Group presented a draft of the Arts Master plan to a group of residents, who were encouraged to provide feedback during the second meeting held at The Centre.
The plan drew on input from the community via the Arts and Entertainment Survey and the AMPED Summit breakout sessions in 2015. Community members were able to look at all of the items on the Arts Master Plan and pick their favorite items by placing a sticker on the wall. The goal of the presentation was to improve the local arts community by collecting additional thoughts and ideas from the public.
The Arts Master Plan will serve as a road map for arts and cultural development in the City of Santa Clarita over the next 10 years. It addresses several specific areas, including public art, arts funding, the Newhall Arts District, arts facilities and Santa Clarita’s creative economy.
