Invisalign: Clear Removable Braces What is the process? How does it work?

 First, choosing the right Invisalign provider doctor is the key. It is important that you choose the right doctor with extensive experience in Invisalign cases as the actual process, the treatment, and the outcome will depend on the provider’s knowledge and experience.
When you do decide that the Invisalign is the right choice for you, your doctor will take x-rays, pictures, and impressions of your teeth all of which will be used to create a digital 3-D image of your teeth.  Using these images, your doctor will map out a precise treatment plan which includes the exact movements of your teeth and provide an approximate length of the treatment.
Then, based on your individual treatment plan, a series of custom-made, clear aligners are created specifically for you. These aligners are made of a smooth, comfortable, BPA-free plastic that will not irritate your cheeks and/or gums like traditional metal braces often do. Simply wear them throughout the day, and remove them when you eat or to brush and floss your teeth.
As you wear each set of aligners, your teeth will gently and gradually begin to shift into place. And because they’re virtually invisible, most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them.
To monitor your progress and ensure everything is going well, you will also have occasional checkups with your doctor, usually only every six weeks or so (could be more frequent if doctor wants to check the progress more often).  At the end of each visit to the doctor, you will receive a set of aligners (normally three sets) if all’s well.  You will wear each aligner in the set prescribed for two weeks at a time. For best results and a timely outcome, you should wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day, throughout your entire treatment.
Once your treatment is completed, you will want to protect the beautiful new smile you have invested in by wearing a retainer.
