Solo Dance Competition from the Island of Tahiti

by | Mar 1, 2016 | On The Town

On Saturday, January 30, Kalakeke Pacific Island Dance Company held their 5th annual Te Mana Ori, a Tahitian Dance Solo Competition.
For the past four years, Kalakeke has made it their mission to offer a Tahitian Solo competition to the Polynesian dance world that helps hone soloist’s skills. With helpful feedback from judges that care about their growth as dancers, they are given a fun and safe environment that also promotes fellowship among different directors, dancers, groups, and supporters of Polynesian dance.
Te Mana Ori was held in an intimate venue at Castaic Middle School, where they are proud to support the local middle school’s Student Television Program.
