Huston Rocket fans! Corey Brewer was spotted by Taylor Kellstrom at the Westfield Valencia Town Center. Corey is an eight-year NBA star and is currently playing for the Houston Rockets. Originally from Portland, Tennessee, Corey attended college at the University of Florida, where he was part of two National Championship teams in 2006 and 2007.
In his rookie season, Corey played 79 games for the Timberwolves. He cracked the starting line-up 35 times. On December 6, 2007 he recorded a season high of 18 rebounds against the Atlanta Hawks. Corey averaged 5.8 points per game while playing 22.8 minutes per game.
On December 19, 2014, Corey was acquired by the Houston Rockets in a three-team that also involved the Timberwolves and the Philadelphia 76ers. On July 14, 2015, he re-signed with the Rockets to a three-year, $23.4 million contract. On January 22, he picked up the team’s starting small forward role. Currently, Corey is in his ninth start of the season and has scored a season-high 24 points in a 111-105 win over the Phoenix Suns.
In addition to a pro athlete, SCV residents spotted TV stars Wayde King and Brett Raymer of Animal Planet’s “Tanked,” a show that features the design and manufacturing of aquarium tanks. Wayde King’s love of fish began at an early age. Born and raised in Long Island, New York, Wayde was cleaning aquariums by age 14. Remaining in the industry his entire life, Wayde eventually grew to own a tank business with Brett and find his way to the show. Brett Raymer is the COO of Acrylic Tank Manufacturing (ATM), and there isn’t a tank big enough to hold his larger-than-life ideas and personality. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Brett started the company with Wayde. Today, Wayde and Brett design and manufacture some of the largest and most extravagant acrylic tanks in the world.
