Lara’s Book Corner “The 5th Wave” by Rick Yancey
Summary
The aliens, which were never thought to exist, now are starting to take over Earth; however, they are called “the others.” The takeover comes in waves – five waves to be exact. First is media/telephone/internet takeover. As all electronics are shut down, communication becomes hard. The next wave was total chaotic destruction from natural disasters, like tsunamis and earthquakes. The third wave was a plague, and the fourth was the aliens taking over human bodies and impersonating them. What’s the fifth wave? Read the book to find out. Cassie tries to survive these terrible conditions and just find her brother. Can she do it? Will she survive?
Review
I’ve had many so recommendations for me to read this book; I figured, why not? Since the movie is coming out soon, I decided to read the book before it comes out. Just like many other people, I loved this book! I can see why they recommended it to me. This book was filled with action and mystery, leaving you on the edge of your seat when reading. The writing style was unique, interesting and descriptive. I felt like I was living “The 5th Wave” when reading it. Good thing there’s a second book.
