What Happened to El Niño?
Weather patterns in Southern California have changed for the better with regard to snow and rainfall totals, and in Northern California and the Sierras where we get most of our water, the snowpack is up. Hopefully the weather patterns will continue to change for the better this year and the next. While the drought is a little less desperate than it was last year, we are still not out of the dangers of a long term drought. Unfortunately, your great efforts in saving water will be rewarded with increased water rates.
As a proactive homeowner, your main goal is to protect your investment. You should repair and maintain the obvious problems such as roofing, windows, heating and air conditioning, and general home maintenance. Protecting your home from the outside elements is like putting money in the bank. A well maintained home is more comfortable and energy efficient. Consider investing instead of repairing. Choosing the right improvements will cost a little more up front, but will save you big money in the long-term.
Now for the good news, the Santa Clarita Valley now has the Hero Financing program as well as the Home Upgrade, and Upgrade California program by the Energy Network. The Hero Financing program offers financing from 5, 10, 15, and 20 years, and the HERO Program allows home owners to finance energy efficient products such as NEW cool-roofing materials, windows, and HVAC systems that would be repaid over time through annual property tax payments.
One thing we know for sure, your energy bills will always go up, which is now threatening the American Dream and our standard of living. Anco Design Build has been dedicated to reducing the cost of energy needed to run our homes today and the future. Anco Design Build is a participating contractor for the Energy Network, Upgrade California, and the Hero Financing program. Our first visit is always free, and we can analyze your home improvement needs. Take care of home, and it will take care of you.
