The Importance of Preschool
Childhood experts agree that attending a high-quality preschool program for children prepares them for kindergarten and beyond. Preschools not only provides a foundation for your child’s learning, both socially and academically, but helps them to succeed in elementary school. Attending preschool is also designed to help with their emotional, academic and social success.
For most children, preschool is perhaps their first experience in a structured setting with teachers and groups of children. This setting will help them to learn to share, follow instructions and begin a starting point for learning.
Preschool helps to prepare children for kindergarten and with kindergarten becoming more academic, parents are looking to preschools to launch their child on the road to success in school.
Finding a high-quality early childhood program will assist your child in both their play time and making sure they are ready for kindergarten so the child is working well socially, emotionally, and physically.
Your child needs to feel cared for and secure with a teacher or caregiver in order to learn. By encouraging the growth and development of your preschooler and forming warm relationships among the teachers and children your child will thrive when there is consistency in care between home and school. A preschool also promotes children to learn to take care of themselves and others. And a child’s sense of accomplishment and self-growth as they learn to take care of themselves and help others will engage them in real work like helping to set a table at snack time, feeding the class pet or putting away toys, etc.
Preschool teachers help to nurture a child’s curiosity by asking questions, observing and listening to your child’s ideas during activities. Preschool activities will help to boost pre-math and literacy skills and will help in developing your child’s motor skills by allowing them to explore their environment. Children are in motion a good part of each day, by allowing them to run, climb, and play activities helps them in developing fine motor skills, like using scissors or threading a bead. Challenges like this help build their hand-eye coordination and balance.
