The 31st Annual Music Festival

by | Jun 1, 2016 | On The Town

Canyon High School Choir is proud to congratulate three students, Joshua Valdes, Elisha Soronio, and Muskan Parashar, who placed first, second, and third for the SCCEA (Santa Clarita Choral Educators Association) high school vocal scholarship on April 26 at the 31st Annual Music Festival. All of this is thanks to Mary Purdy, Canyon’s choir director, without whom the students would not have all of these opportunities to advance musically.
This is a proud year for Canyon High Choir, as the choirs recently traveled to New York and performed in Carnegie Hall, and also world premiered a piece by renowned composer Z. Randall Stroope in their brand new Performing Arts Center, in addition to performing Karl Jenkins’s The Armed Man with the Santa Clarita Master Chorale.
Muskan, Elisha, and Josh represented the Canyon Choirs well!
