Feel ‘The Love’ at L’Amoré Dance
Combine Madeline’s lifelong career as a professional singer with Gina’s expertise on the dance floor, and you have a recipe for success. The mother-daughter team decided to join forces two years ago to create L’amoré Dance Performing Arts Studio for students in the Santa Clarita Valley.
“Why not open a location where students can learn to sing and dance?” owner Madeline Vergari Neumann recalled asking. “We work well together. Gina is the director of dance and choreographs the performances, and I am more involved with the business aspect of the company and also provide voice lessons.”
L’amore means “the love” in Italian, and their love for the performing arts is evident.
“We try to bring ‘the love’ to the studio,” said Madeline. “We wanted to create an atmosphere of learning, as well as love for the arts, and we have successfully done so over the last few years since opening in Santa Clarita.”
L’amoré’s mission is to inspire students to love dancing and the arts, build self esteem and be role models in the development of children.
“We want to pass our love of the arts on to our students and help them reach their potential, while instilling values of discipline and dedication,” Madeline said.
L’amoré provides a top-of-the-line studio to train students in dance, voice and other performing arts. The staff takes pride in developing good techniques amongst their students.
“For competitors, it is important to have good technique,” Madeline said.
Guests, family members and performing arts fans can see the students take the stage during three performances. There will be a vocal performance on Saturday, June 11 at 7 p.m. in the theatre at West Ranch High School. On Sunday, June 12, there will be two dance recitals at West Ranch High School’s theatre, one at 1 p.m. and another at 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $15 per person at the studio or at the door.
For parents of students interested in becoming a part of the L’amoré Competition Team to learn from the best, there will be a parent meeting on Monday, June 13 at 8:00 pm for the 2016-2017 season. The informational meeting will take place at the studio, located at 28065 Smyth Drive in Valencia. On Monday, June 20 and Tuesday, June 21, there will be a clinic at the studio to learn the dance, with tryouts on Friday, June 24.
It’s a busy month of June for performing arts fans, and to end the month, there will be a special event on Monday, June 27 from 11 a.m. – 4 pm for the Day of Dance workshop with Krista and Autumn Miller. The much anticipated five-hour workshop with Krista Miller, Todd Flanagan, Kelley Guise, assisted by Autumn Miller, Jessica Richens and Alexis Gilbert are for students ages seven years and older. There will be two different levels available for students. Call the studio for details.
