Running on the Road to Success!
A visit to Canyon Springs Community School reveals a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our positive learning environment with high expectations, dedicated staff and supportive parent community are just a few attributes that make our school a special place.
In February 2016, our school celebrated exiting Program Improvement. This great accomplishment was possible through the commitment and dedication of our staff and parent community working together to provide the very best learning opportunities for our students.
Our students and teachers use technology for learning and collaboration daily. Students use iPads and a variety of presentation software to create and present their knowledge. Performing arts enrichment through collaboration with the COC Performing Arts Center has been a great addition to our school practices. In addition, the weekly Art and Music Enrichment is an important part of our student learning for K through sixth grades.
Through our After School Education and Safety Program, second to sixth grade students are provided with extended after school support. Coding and Robotics also add a variety of classes offered as after school classes, as students explore computer sciences.
Canyon Spring’s fourth to sixth graders also participate in the S.T.A.R. (Success Through Awareness and Resistance) program. Deputy Mike Forne, our school S.T.A.R. deputy, visits classrooms and works directly with students.
The location of our school lends itself to many Community Based Instructional opportunities. Our community is always supportive of our efforts in helping our students learn and develop life-long skills.
