Two New Events Rock Thursdays@Newhall Music meets talent on the streets of Santa Clarita’s Arts and Entertainment District
As if Thursdays weren’t already fun enough, two new events have hit Old Town Newhall, kicking up local culture a couple notches. Music, laughs and local talents are filling up the streets with Note by Note, a singer/songwriter night, and 10 by 10, a variety show, and both are additions to the popular Thursdays@Newhall series. So clear your Thursday night schedule, prepare to moved and cheer on the local talent you didn’t know was here.
Note by Note
Held each second Thursday of the month, Note by Note is the night out you’re looking for in Old Town Newhall. Professional and aspiring songwriters alike meet at Newhall Refinery for one rockin’ performance, giving audiences a show they can’t find anywhere else.
“Note by Note is amazing!” said Alesia Humphries, singer/songwriter for local group Dole | Humphries, alongside Steve Dole. “To have our city invested in the musical arts in such a cool, hip way is remarkable. The venue is top-notch, and the crowd is full of energy. I could play every night!”
For performers, Note by Note is a chance for songwriters to showcase their songs in front of a live audience, and for fans, this special evening is an opportunity to hear new music, as each songwriter performs four original songs of their own composition.

10 by 10
Every night is a surprise at 10 by 10, a variety show held each first Thursday of the month at Repertory East Playhouse. A typical show will feature short live theatre pieces, dance, monologues, improv, comedy, music and more. Each month, 10 performers are selected to perform a 10-minute piece. All types of art forms are accepted and considered; however, there are some restrictions on live music. Last month’s 10 by 10 featured everything from short films about motherhood to improv comedians to a thought-reading mentalist.
