Congratulations Bridgeport Elementary School
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson announced that 780 elementary schools are being honored under the Gold Ribbon Schools Awards Program. Fourteen Saugus District schools were recognized, including Bridgeport Elementary.
“These schools shine as bright beacons for others, putting forth an exemplary effort to ensure that every student is ready for 21st century college and careers,” Torlakson said. “California teachers are developing an education model for the nation, training the students of today to be the problem-solvers, inventors, and pioneers of tomorrow.”
Bridgeport Elementary focused on their student leadership program KISS: Kids in School Service. Upper grade students participate in several programs aimed at teaching them leadership and contributing to make Bridgeport the best school it can be: Morning Valet, Peer Mentors, Playground Partners, School Newspaper, Student Council. Bridgeport Principal Susan Bender states: “We are so proud of our students and school, and honored to receive this award”.
