Delicioso Comida de Guadalajara: Las Originales
Freshness and authenticity are the most important factors in creating the best possible Guadalajaran cuisine at Las Originales restaurant. The owners, Francisco and Gerry, were excited to bring the authentic and exciting flavors of Guadalajara to the Santa Clarita Valley. Exotic and flavorful dishes, such as the Spicy Torta Ahogada and the Molcajete, are developed with careful preparation, fresh ingredients and a priority to represent the true flavors of the region. This region, located in Western Mexico, is a vibrant cultural center, known for its gorgeous architecture, growing technology industry and its vast food markets. Inside these food emporiums, you would easily find the Guadalajaran speciality, Tortas Ahogadas, or a “drenched sandwich.” A fresh-baked roll holds delicate shredded meat and is topped with a spicy sauce, making a delectable and satisfying meal. Las Originales in Newhall serves up authentic Tortas Ahogadas in the same manner as you would see while strolling the streets of Guadalajara. Sixteen years ago, Gerry and Francisco were motivated to produce the same delicious dishes, handed down from family recipes, in their local community. Today they are persistent in their search for the freshest ingredients possible and in their desire “to preserve the true flavor of this region’s Mexican food by cooking fresh.” Francisco also shares that grilling does not occur until each order is placed. It is clear that the owners and staff of Las Originales strive to “deliver freshness in every plate served, while utilizing the correct spices and herbs in true Mexican food.”
Excellent, friendly service is another foundation of Las Originales. The business philosophy that defines the owners of Las Originales is the idea that “customers should be treated like family; therefore, they should be served with great service, quality and freshness.” Raspados, or Mexican shaved ice drinks are served with heaps of fresh fruit, and tortillas are handmade in-house, and sauces and salsas are bold and flavorful. An array of authentically made drinks – such as their popular Micheladas, creamy Horchata and Jamaica – are the perfect addition to any meal. Scrumptious desserts are also available to compliment your Guadalajaran dining experience.
There is a dish to accommodate everyone’s tastes and preferences, such as their Vegetarian Burrito, the satisfying Torta Ahogada Originale, sizzling Fajitas and the enticing Burrito Ilegal, topped with queso panela, or panela cheese. Furthermore, Las Originales offers a reasonably priced catering service, ranging from buffet trays to a Taco Cart that they transport to your venue. Furthermore, the restaurant now offers a range of cocktails, such as the favorite Margarita, Pina Colada, and the Cantarito. Happy Hour is from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The family-oriented atmosphere is inviting and bright with traditional styled Mexican colors, and a kids menu ensures that your little one will be well fed.
Gerry and Francisco are proud to own a business in the SCV, where they live and raise their families, and are happy to share their passion for exquisite Mexican food. Stop by for breakfast, lunch or dinner to relish in the fresh and authentic flavors of Las Originales.
