Steps up for Children with Terminal Cancer – Relay for Jack
Jack’s Angels Foundations Inaugural ‘Relay for Jack!” event at Vasquez Rocks raised over $1000 for research for DIPG, a cancer responsible for 80 percent of pediatric brain tumor deaths. One of three local DIPG families in attendance had lost their little girl “Princess Leah”, age seven, to DIPG just two days prior. The event was a celebration of our local heroes for kids with cancer and Congressman Knight’s HRes586, a National Awareness Resolution for DIPG, which asks for more consideration for terminal pediatric cancers with the National Cancer Institute for research grants. Knight won Jack’s Angels “Man of the Year” Award, presented by Assemblyman Wilk, the 2015 Honoree for his precedent-setting work for DIPG awareness at the State level, and Dante Acosta, Mayor Pro-Tem of Santa Clarita. Jack’s Angels was presented with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for its work in raising awareness to the urgent need for DIPG research.
