Takin’ it Back to the Old School…

 At Eighth & Rail we like to reminisce on the good times past, traditions long forgotten and all the music we loved growing up. Most places give you the best of right now. We’re pulling from a considerably larger playlist. Our musical format blends the best of the last 50 years. Most days it’s a roulette wheel of 80’s, classic rock, Indie, alternative, and a little country for good measure. All in all, the perfect happy hour environment.
Now, when it comes to the weekend, we like to crank it up a couple notches on the party dial!
Every Friday night we celebrate the best (and worst) of past glory days. Kick back with a drink as we breeze through the cliff notes of your high school and college years. Each week we highlight a different class, starting with that year and working our way back reviving and remixing all your favorite old school jams with DJ SH8K! Saturday nights are all mixed up with music video master; DJ CYPRUS! Hop in her DeLorean as she rewinds to a time when music had soul, the crowd was funky and Saturday nights had the fever. Our dance floor is small, but that doesn’t seem to stop anybody! If dancing isn’t your thing, there’s always shuffleboard, pool, darts and super-sized Jenga.
Now maybe you’d like to go back even further… We proudly present “The Shindig”! Tighten your laces and roll up your sleeves, cuzz this night gets super funky! Every Wednesday starting at 8 p.m. DeeJay Danny Dee and friends showcase a blend of Funk, Northern Soul, Motown, Rhythm & Blues! Best of all, most of the music selections are played from their original vinyl press. That’s right! They spin stacks of old 45 records all night! We also encourage people to bring in their own favorite records, and DJs will mix them into the playlist.
