A Parent’s Perspective
August may be late summer, but it’s a new beginning for students all over the Santa Clarita Valley, including preschool. If you’re a parent looking for the right fit for your child, you probably feel a little overwhelmed and a lot of pressure. I know because I was that parent, three times over. Each child is different and has different needs and unique personalities, so how do you find a school that fits not just one, but multiple individuals? You look for a school that recognizes and embraces all types of children and learning. The minute I walked in, I knew Beth Shalom was right for us. Not only was it clearly a warm and loving environment, where I felt my children would be in the best hands, it focused on learning in a variety of different ways, including art, singing, and even a bit of traditional academics (age appropriate of course). So now that my third child is going into the Pre-K program after two amazing years of growth, I am confident that she will be prepared for Kindergarten, cognitively, behaviorally, emotionally, and socially. And the best part? When she says, “Mommy I want to go to school and see my friends and Teacher Kat and Teacher Carol.” What more could I ask for?
