In Memoriam – Lloyd Sreden
Stern, Kory, Sreden, and Morgan announced with deep sadness the recent passing of longtime shareholder Lloyd Sreden, who lost his battle with cancer at the end of June. “This has been a difficult time, as Lloyd was not only our business associate but also our close friend,” the office announced in a statement. “We take solace in the fact that Lloyd’s daughter Amanda is with our firm, and the Sreden tradition will continue through her.”
Lloyd was devoted to excellent service and going the extra mile. He joined the firm in 1983, and in the ensuing years helped set an abiding standard for the level of service provided to each client.
“He was an absolute dynamo, and many in the Santa Clarita Valley community know how devoted he was to supporting causes to help make our community an even better place to live, work and play,” the statement read. “Lloyd will be missed, not only by his family, close friends and those of us who worked with him, but also by the entire community.”
Mr. Lloyd Sreden was a graduate of California State University, Northridge, in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. With more than 25 years experience serving SKSM clients, Mr. Sreden specialized in accounting, income tax preparation and planning, tax controversy and Internal Revenue Service representation. Mr. Lloyd Sreden was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA). Mr. Lloyd Sreden was a member of the Santa Clarita Valley Tax Discussion Group and was elected to serve on Congressman Buck McKeon’s Internal Revenue Service Abuse Committee.
In the community, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Santa Clarita Valley Rotary Club and the William S. Hart Baseball and Softball League, Inc. as well as the Hart High School Baseball Booster Club. In his spare time, Lloyd enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and golfing at the TPC in Valencia.
Public Facebook posts from those who knew him described his fun-loving spirit, his passion for the community and how he will be missed. A service was held in Mr. Sreden’s memory at Mount Sinai Memorial Park & Mortuary June 30, and his spirit lives on through his wife Victoria and their three children.
The Magazine of Santa Clarita wishes its most hear-felt condolences to the Sredens and their friends as well as an appreciation for all the good he chose to accomplish and left behind.
“We’re all proud not only to have worked with Lloyd, but also to be able to call him a friend,” said Ronald D. Morgan. “He went above and beyond not only in his business life but also as a community member, too. His work with local nonprofits, especially the Rotary Club and William S. Hart baseball and softball, has made our community a better place.”
