Advent and Christmas Greetings

 Many times in life it seems that God is silent. That God does not speak into our everyday lives and help us on this journey. Yet, when Christmas time comes, many opportunities arise for us to listen to the call of God through reliving that first Christmas. The Prophet Isaiah proclaimed, “For a child has been born for us a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Might God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His authority shall grow continually, and there shall be endless peace for the throne of David and his kingdom. He will establish and uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time onward and forevermore.”   This Christmas proclamation reminds us that God moved into the world in a self-giving, world transforming manner.  That self-giving transformational flow of God is still changing lives today.
Santa Clarita UMC’s focus this Advent & Christmas season is “The Call of Christmas” Sunday, November 27, the first Sunday in Advent.  We invite you to gather in worship with us at 9am or 11am to listen to what God is saying to each of us in this Christmas season. We pray wherever you spend this holiday season you will find hope, peace, joy, and love.
