November 17: Triumph over cigarette addiction with the Great American Smokeout. Sadly, 42 million Americans continue to light up. To better educate the public about the hazards of smoking, and ultimately help smokers kick the habit, the ACS holds its annual Great American Smokeout each third Thursday in November. The official sponsor of birthdays, the ACS urges smokers to give up all forms of tobacco, including vape sticks, for at least one day, then hopefully for their lifetime. The American Cancer Society would love to help you learn how to kick ash for keeps! For Smokeout information and ACS stop-smoking resources and tools, call 800-227-2345. Or visit Cancer.org/smokeout.
