City Honors Local Veterans at Annual Veterans Day Ceremony
The City of Santa Clarita invited community members to join the Santa Clarita City Council for a special Veterans Day Ceremony to honor local veterans, currently-serving military and their families on Friday, November 11 at the Veterans Historical Plaza in Old Town Newhall.
The ceremony included a special reading by Robert Heinisch as a sign of respect for those who are missing in action (MIA) or prisoners of war (POW) as well as listen to veteran Command Sergeant Major, Edward O. Littleton speak. There was a lovely changing of the flags by the Knights of Columbus Santa Clarita Assembly and Vietnam Veterans of America.
Other featured speakers included the Santa Clarita City Council, Rabbi Mark Blazer, and Ted Olsen, who will served as the Master of Ceremonies.
