Meet Canyon Center’s Compassionate Retail Store Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission
As a faith-based compassion ministry, the goal at Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission is to meet the needs of the “whole” person — spiritually, emotionally and physically. One of the ways Hope of the Valley provides that support is through its retail thrift stores, one located in the Canyon Shopping Center in Canyon Country, which supports the organization’s mission and provides resources for the homeless.
“Our vision is to tangibly demonstrate God’s love to the hungry, homeless and hurting of the greater Los Angeles area by offering hope, hot meals, housing, health services and healing to those in need.”
For our thrift stores in Granada Hills and Santa Clarita, we are accepting donations of your clothing (gently used) and household items, including but not limited to: baby items, shoes, small appliances and TVs, bedding and decorative pillows, jewelry, toys, bikes, games, usable small furniture pieces and more. The homeless receive vouchers for clothing and goods free of charge, and excess inventory is sold in our Thrift Store to fund programs and services that empower the homeless to get back on their feet. All donations receive a tax deductible receipt, and the Mission will pick up your donation if needed.
“Great thrift store for men’s clothing,” said Adam S. from Canyon Country. “I’ve found several shirts there that were good quality shirts. I’ll definitely be going back there for other things, as well.”
The organization is governed by a skilled and experienced local board of directors comprised of men and women who have a tremendous passion to meet the needs of the hurting in the greater Los Angeles area. Our leadership seeks to operate in and promote an atmosphere that is entrepreneurial, strategic and practical. We develop well-thought-out strategies and implement them through teams of skilled and faithful staff and volunteer workers. Partnering with individuals, businesses, civic organizations, faith-based organizations and government agencies, we expect to grow and serve ever greater numbers of those in need.
“I am a Thrift Store lover and visited this store for the first time last week. The store is clean and the clothes are nicely organized by color,” said Mary S. from Palmdale. “he location of this store is great … If you are a Thrift Store addict, I think you will enjoy this little shop.”
