Preschool is a Gift
Now that the holidays are here, it is time to start thinking about our plans and commitments for the New Year. While planning out those commitments, why not make it a priority to find your child the perfect preschool for 2017. It truly is a gift to give your child the opportunity to have an early start to their education. There are many benefits to attending a preschool before entering elementary school.
Children who attend preschool learn to successfully separate from their parents and become more confident individuals. In some cases this is the first time that a child may be away from their parents. Being away from the parents allows children to become more confident and have higher self-esteem. Children learn to trust other adults and learn that Mom and Dad always come back for them. This empowers children and gives them the feeling of “I can do this” on my own.
A school setting allows children to work on their self-help skills. A child should leave their preschool and be able to sit in a circle, line up, wash their hands, open things in their lunch box, find their cubby, put on their jacket and shoes, cut, glue and much more by the time they go to elementary school.
Working on social skills is the foundation to learning. Being able to work, play and communicate with others is a lifelong skill. Cooperating with peers and sharing space is a big deal for a preschooler. A smaller class size is best for teaching children how to share, take turns and to use their words to get what they need. At Creative Years we have a small class sizes in order to achieve these goals. If children are taught early on to communicate all other learning aspects will fall into place.
Academics are also an important link to connecting preschool to kindergarten. At Creative Years, our children leave the program with a jump start on phonics, letter recognition and counting. We use a developmentally appropriate program called Handwriting Without Tears to implement these skills. Our children also learn things like name writing, phone numbers, calendar, chart making and Spanish to name a few.
It is a big decision to find the perfect school that fits your child’s needs and precious gift that will last a lifetime.
We do tours daily and would be honored to schedule one for your family. Please send us an email at CreativeYearsSCV@aol.com or give us a call at 661-254-0718 to schedule yours today.
