Winter and Spring Semesters Largest in College History
College of the Canyons is gearing up to offer its largest ever winter and spring semesters, which will boast more than 310 and 1800 class sections, respectively.
“We are very excited to offer our new and returning students the classes they need to reach their educational goals and graduate on time,” said Dr. Jerry L. Buckley, Assistant Superintendent and Vice President of Academic Affairs at the college. “The increase in class sections being offered demonstrates our commitment to meet the growing educational needs of our community.”
The 2017 winter and spring schedule of classes will primarily consist of general education “core” classes that all students need to either graduate, transfer to a four-year school and/or meet course prerequisites associated with their immediate educational plans.
Running from January 3 to February 4, the winter session will be especially robust with the addition of more Biology and Math classes, including transfer-level Introduction to Statistics.
In an effort to help students move through STEM pathways, Chemistry 201 will also be offered during the winter term for the first time.
Registration for spring 2017 will begin Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
The spring semester will run from Monday, February 6 to Thursday, June 1.
Registration for winter and spring will be ongoing at both the Valencia and Canyon Country campuses until classes are full.
