Resolve to Give Your Child the Best Start
The new year is synonymous with resolutions. Why? A brand new beginning or fresh start means the past is all but erased (even if only symbolically). This feeling that accompanies the turn of the calendar can be empowering and emotional, yet sadly many resolutions we make will not be fulfilled. There is one, however, that is most certainly within reach. It’s a good thing, too, since it may well be the most important one you’ll ever make. I’m talking about the resolution to give your preschooler the very best start possible. Just as the new year brings an open slate of possibility, so does the beginning of your child’s school life. It’s nerve-wracking, there’s no doubt. The last thing you want is to doubt your decision. So how do you make it with confidence? You research. You visit. You ask questions. Then you find just the right balance between the type of educational style you feel comfortable with, the gut feeling of comfort and happiness in the atmosphere, the teachers, the staff, the other children – oh and don’t forget the price and proximity or the values they embrace.
Feeling overwhelmed yet?
Don’t despair. The nice thing is that some of us have already been through it. I have three kids aged 17 to four and guess what? They all not only have survived, they’ve thrived. And here’s the interesting part, they each have extremely distinct personalities and learning styles and yet they’ve gone to the same schools. What was my magic solution? It wasn’t magic really, just a great school. CBS Preschool – where my youngest currently attends the Pre-K. Her teacher (also my older daughter’s many years ago) keeps up to date on education and takes the best from each style to create an environment rich with learning and development for the kids. But the most important thing in my honest opinion? My daughter is happy there. She loves her teachers and friends – often begs to go to school, and has a smile on her face when she runs off to play as I drop her off in the morning. That to me, says I’m doing the right thing and gives me confidence. Because at that age, ultimately, it’s the love of learning that you need to instill and the rest will follow. Yes, that’s my opinion, but it is an educated one.
Why not go see for yourself? Resolve to call Director Carol Bloom, aka Teacher Carol today for a tour of CBS Preschool at 661-254-2411. You’ll be glad you did.
