With just the right combination of side-splitting hilarity and genuine smarts, three madcap actors in tights weave their wicked way through all of Shakespeare’s comedies, histories, and tragedies in one wild ride that will leave you breathless and helpless with laughter. The Today Show remarked, “If you like Shakespeare, you’ll love this show. The CTG also presents the unusual and appetizing adventures experienced by young lad named Charlie Bucket, on his visit to Willy Wonka’s mystifying chocolate factory in this captivating adaptation of Roald Dahl’s fantastical tale. The enchanting songs from the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder and new songs by Leslie Bricusse (Jekyll & Hyde, Doctor Doolittle) and Anthony Newly light up the stage and make Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka a scrumdidilyumptious musical, guaranteed to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth.  The show follows young Charlie efforts to win the contest staged by the mysterious candy manufacturer, Willy Wonka, by finding one of five golden tickets hidden in Wonka scrumptious candy bars. The prize is a tour of the Wonka factory and a lifetime supply of candy for the five winners. But, aha! There’s more to this than meets the eye… and the winning children, some of whom are unbearably spoiled, must learn to follow Mr. Wonka’s rules in the factory… or suffer the consequences. Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka takes audiences on a flight of fancy into the land of pure imagination!  Performances are Saturdays, January 28, February 4, 11, 18 and 25 at 2 pm, and Sundays, January 29 February 5 at 2 pm and February 12 and 19 at 6 pm.
