We believe that a tailored, comprehensive care plan managed by our exceptional clinical talent, partnered with love and commitment from the family, allows each child to achieve his or her maximum potential.
Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as it’s called today, is a developmental disability that affects people in a number of different ways. It’s considered a spectrum disorder because of the wide-ranging symptoms and varying degrees of behaviors. This means that some individuals with Autism may have only mild behaviors, while others on the spectrum will be affected with more severe behaviors and intellectual disabilities.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy is a discipline devoted to the understanding and improvement of human behavior, focusing on objectively defined, observable behaviors of social significance. It’s used to change behaviors by evaluating the functional relationship between a behavior and the environment. It’s also structured to incorporate the teaching of appropriate and functional replacement behaviors. ABA services are offered in the home, school or community. Our specialized clinical team comes to assist you. We will travel to meet you in your home, school or community to meet the individual needs of your family.
One of the most prevalent challenges for individuals with autism spectrum disorder is in the area of social skills. This includes difficulty with observational skills, eye contact, play interactions, social pragmatics, taking another’s perspective, making inferences, and sharing enjoyment and building relationships. This is why we offer Social Skills classes with a wide range of program offerings. Arts and crafts, games, cooking, interacting/sensory play, and so much more! In addition, we are proud to offer new services in 2017 including Parent Support Groups and free community events.
Our North Los Angeles region is proud of our team and has a group of qualified, seasoned local therapists ready to assist your families.
