Egg Hunt, Summer Camp and Medieval Fun – Things are Hopping at Gilchrist Farm!

 Spring has arrived at the Gilchrist Farm!  With Spring comes chicks, baby goats, the beginnings of the summer garden and our new native butterfly garden!  So much is happening this season, we can’t wait to share it all with you.  Come and see for yourself!  We are open to the public every Saturday from 9AM-2PM for Pony Rides, Wagon Rides, Crafts and Petting Zoo.  Each weekend, we put out the babies for visits with their adoring public.  Come on by, hold a chick, cuddle a baby goat, pet a pig, hold a bunny, and learn to milk a goat.  Our goat milking demonstrations resume mid-April and take place weekly on Saturday mornings at 9AM, free of charge!
Our Egg Hunt and Spring Fling takes place on Saturday, April 15th from 9AM-2PM.  We’ll have egg hunts for all ages at 9AM, 11AM and 1PM.  Our Spring Animal Care Class students will be releasing butterflies into our new butterfly garden at noon!  Join us for this wonderful event.  We’ll have turkey chicks, duck chicks, chicken chicks, baby goats, pony rides, wagon rides, special spring crafts, egg hunts, and some surprises! No charge for admission.  The egg hunt is included with the purchase of a value pack ($25 for $30 worth of activities) or just $3.  There is no admission or parking charge, and each activity (pony rides, wagon rides, crafts, petting zoo) is just $5.
Reserve your spot for Gilchrist Farm Summer Camp before May 1 and save $50!  This year, we offer five weeks of FUN FILLED camp.  Camp includes: Horse care, grooming, riding and an end of the week horse show!   Milk goats, gather eggs, pet pigs and bunnies, feed the ducks and tortoise, and take the mini mule for a walk!   Gather some fresh vegetables and fruits from the garden and prepare a farm fresh snack.  Watch eggs hatch and learn to care for chicks!  Make goats milk ice cream.  Country Arts & Crafts galore!  Soap and candle making, leather working, rag doll making, and wood working.  Water play-squirt gun obstacle course, mud run & more!
Get ready for some Medieval Fun!  This June 3 we are partnering with the American Jousting Alliance to host an incredible day of archery, swordsmanship, a live jousting demonstration, dirt skiing and so much more!  Join us for an incredible day you won’t soon forget.
Spring field trips are in full swing and we are currently booking field trips for the Harvest Festival in October.  Bring your group for an experience they won’t soon forget!
