SCVTV Presents The OutWest Concert Series An Evening with Mary Kaye and Joe Herrington
On Wednesday, April 19, the SCVTV Presents The OutWest Concert Series is hosting an evening with The Queen of the West and The Sage of the Prairie, Mary Kaye and Joe Herrington, at the MAIN, formerly the Repertory East Playhouse, located at 24266 Main Street in Newhall. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show kicks off at 8 p.m. This special performance kicks off the 2017 Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival!
Mary Kaye is an internationally acclaimed and multiple award-winning singer-songwriter. She is at ease with beautiful three-octave vocals and amazing musical dexterity as she sings well-loved classics along with award-winning originals. Her distinguished songwriting and vocal abilities combined with her magnetic stage presence, beautiful guitar playing, and fun sense of humor make for a memorable performance.
“Gifted with one of the most dynamic and original voices in western music, Mary Kaye delivers the goods,” according to American Cowboy.
Joe Herrington is a novelist and nationally acclaimed Cowboy Poet and Western Storyteller. His homespun stories and poems are told in the Western tradition of honor, courage and rugged characters. His original works not only entertain but also prod the soul with a truer understanding of the deep values and solid character of the American Cowboy.
“With his velvety voice and honorable heart as big as the star-filled Texas sky, Herrington is blessed with a rare and profound gift that can magically transport you far and away from the many distractions of your busy life to a place where, once you’ve been, you return a better person,” according to Kevin Rafferty, writer and director.
