Red, White & Blue for Our Troops Land of the Free Care Packages
Prayer Angels for the Military and Newhall Church of the Nazarene will host an Independence Day care packing event for our troops overseas. A free event, for all ages, to be held on Saturday, June 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church gymnasium at 23857 The Old Road, Newhall. Card making tables will be set up, to make cards for our troops, to go right inside the care packages.
Bring a donation, if you can. Try to find things in red, white and blue, celebrating our freedoms, and the 4th of July. We are definitely, “The Land of the Free Because of the Brave”. We still need to be supporting our troops overseas, and their families, during these difficult times. Showing our support, as a community, means so much to our servicemembers, and their families.
If you bring Hostess, or Little Debbie cakes (that come in red, white & blue), please be sure the expiration dates are two to three weeks away. The Prayer Angels “Operation Cup of Joe” campaign is ongoing, and we’re asking for the gift of specialty coffees, like Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, and the online veteran owned Black Rifle Coffee. 2lb ground coffees and single serving packets are preferred, along with powdered creamers and sweeteners. Travel mugs would be great!
More needed items include: Individually wrapped snacks – granola bars, protein bars, trail mix, cookies, Jerky, Ritz type crackers, peanut butter (plastic jars), jelly or jam (plastic jars), fruit snacks, Top Ramen (not cup-a-soups), oatmeal, hot cocoa, and drink packets for water bottles. Pop-top cans of fruits and meals like Ravioli and hearty soups, tuna kits, three to four blade razors, shaving cream, deodorant, body wash, unscented baby wipes and thick cotton crew socks (blk, tan or wht), cooling neck and head bandanas (no bright colors), Ziplock type bags (gal & qt) & Ziplock type containers (med/sq & lg rectangle). Tax-deductible postage funds are also badly needed.
Donation bin is available 24/7 at the Prayer Angel main address: 21609 Oak Orchard Rd, Newhall, CA 91321. Funds can also be mailed to this address, or donate online through PayPal: www.prayerangelsforthemilitary.com.
