Kalakeke Pacific Island Dance

by | Jul 25, 2017 | On The Town

On Thursday July 6, 2017 the Library of Old Town Newhall became a balmy Hawaiian beach, with palm trees swaying and everyone dancing the Hula. Kalakeke was sponsored by Ford Theater Foundation to perform and to teach all who came including the cutest little children, older kids and adults. Even seniors were on the dance floor swaying to the irresistible live band playing traditional rhythm instruments as well as Ukelele.
The dance troupes were wonderful and the entire evening was filled with colorful music, dancing, laughter and we even received a Lei to wear! Fun was had by all. Live music and performances are integral to the education of not only our children but everyone so please come and support your studios here in the SCV. There’s a lot of wonderful talent in this valley!
