Mamma Mia! Everyone Loves Italian Food!

 It is fairly safe to say that Italian food is loved the world over! With Italy’s strong influences with history and traditions the Italian menu has gained recognition and fame. With each region having it’s own regional food specialties, the list can be endless with what to savor and delight and indulge your palate.
The common Italian foods best known are dishes that include all types of pasta, pizza, risotto, salads and soups, as well as, meats and fish dishes.  Everybody has their own favorite Italian dish be it an appetizer, Italian bread or sandwich, dessert, salads or a main dish!  It can be anything from crunchy calamari, sumptuous pasta fagioli soup, focaccia, meatball sandwich to a gooey lasagna or a beefy lasagna to a pepperoni pizza! The sky is the limit on what you can make and enjoy!
Any food lover would go crazy for Italian because they are simple dishes that use high-quality ingredients. Being that we are in the last days of summer you can go to your local farmer’s market or grocery store for seasonal vegetables and try your hand at making a delicious antipastio platter or a simple platter of olives or bruschetta.  A really simple but satisfying dish is Insalata Caprese, which is tomatoes, mozzarella and fresh basil with a drizzle of good olive oil and salt! Delicious!  A flavorful grilled vegetable salad may be on your menu, try grilling artichokes, zucchini and red peppers or go for the gusto and make a pizza either on your BBQ grill or in your oven. You don’t have to make heavy Italian food in the summer, as there are many dishes that are light and satisfying, as well as flavorful and tasty. And lest we forget there are many fine Italian wines and drinks to enjoy with your meal, a limoncello or Bellini or even just a spritzer will refresh you in the summer.
