Private Tours at The Gentle Barn
The Gentle Barn is open to the public each Sunday from 10am-2pm but for some alone time with our animals you can book a Private Tour and have the place all to yourself!
Recently we had a couple visit us from Pennsylvania for a Private Tour for the wife’s birthday! She had been following us for years on Facebook and was finally able to visit and celebrate with cow hugs, cuddle turkeys, and tummy rubs.
It was a great day and the animals all welcomed her warmly into their home. The cows greeted her at the gate and stood still while she brushed and hugged them all. The horses took carrots gently from her hands. The goats lined up and accepted back rubs and cheek scratches, the pigs rolled over for belly rubs, the turkeys settled in for cuddles in her lap, King the Llama posed for selfies, Jewel the Peacock gave a marvelous show of his beautiful feathers, and Earl the Emu let her pet his fuzzy head and hose him off with the hose. Her favorite part was meeting all the sheep. Most people don’t get to meet our sheep since they can sometimes be a little shy with large groups. But during a Private Tour they are all very curious about our visitors. She got to feel their soft wool, gaze into their golden eyes, and even got a sweet kiss on her nose!
The Gentle Barn is home to animals rescued from severe abuse and neglect, and host to tours, school field trips, private parties or events, and groups of inner city, at risk, and special needs children. To find out more, go to www.gentlebarn.org.
