Local Home Helpers Making Life Easier for ‘Sandwich Generation’ In-home care agency helps seniors, adult children manage everyday life
Increasingly, adult children are finding it necessary to balance the demands of their careers with the care needs of their growing children and aging parents. Sometimes referred to as the “Sandwich Generation,” these men and women are understandably feeling the strain of this juggling act and choosing to hire in-home caregivers to help manage everyday life.
Home Helpers of Santa Clarita is a home care agency specializing in non-medical and personal in-home care and companionship—is providing some much-needed relief to the Sandwich Generation by helping seniors “age in place” and remain safely in their beloved homes.
The AARP recently estimated that 44 percent of adults between the ages of 44 and 55 have at least one child under 21 who is financially dependent, as well as one living parent. The Pew Research Center further estimated that one in eight adults, aged 40 to 60, are caring for a child and an ailing parent.
As work and other obligations keep the “sandwich generation” from visiting their aging parents who may live states apart, Home Helpers of Santa Clarita is lending a hand with services that include grocery shopping, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, local transportation and assistance with bathing, dressing and feeding.
As a business that works closely with senior citizens on daily a basis, it is our mission to provide the best quality care and companionship for elders in the Santa Clarita area and to educate the community on issues that may affect their loved ones.
Home Helpers offers free in-home consultations and works with clients individually to tailor flexible care plans to meet their specific needs and budgets. Home Helpers Caregivers are available on an hourly, daily or weekly basis. Home Helpers also offers assistance to expecting/new mothers, individuals facing lifelong challenges and those recovering from surgery, injury or illness.
