The Santa Clarita Ballet Academy
The Santa Clarita Ballet Academy offers comprehensive dance programs with an emphasis on classical ballet. The Academy’s ballet syllabus is provided by the Royal Academy of Dance in London. The RAD is an international teaching organization committed to establishing standards of excellence in ballet instruction. The Academy also provides classes in tap, jazz, and contemporary dance.
The Academy enrolls students of all levels of ability and interest, from age three and up. New students are always welcome. Summer workshops are available to students enrolled in the Academy.
Students of the Academy are invited to perform with the Santa Clarita Ballet Company every June and in the Nutcracker every December. These are wonderful opportunities for young dancers to showcase their developing skills through sophisticated choreography. Unlike the typical dance studio recital, SCBC performances are full-fledged productions of a very high caliber. Santa Clarita Ballet Company performances have been recognized by many renowned arts organizations such as: the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, the California Arts Council, and several foundations supported by the National Endowment for the Arts. Many current and former Academy students have participated in some of the nation’s highest regarded ballet competitions, programs, schools, and companies including the American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Julliard, Miami City Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, the Walt Disney Company, and Washington DC ballet, to name a few.
Academy staff includes nine distinguished instructors whose credentials are internationally recognized. Our beautiful five-studio space reflects a professional atmosphere and positive learning environment in which students discover the beauty of ballet. The studios are located at 26798 Oak Avenue in Santa Clarita.
