Legacy Christian Science Lab Renovation Completes “Discovery Hall”
Built-in terrariums and aquariums that can be viewed from inside the classroom – and out. Classroom technology that rivals the tools found at the best universities. An immersive visual and auditory experience that replicates the environments students are learning about in real time. State-of-the-art lab equipment that reveals science facts coupled with an academically-accelerated curriculum that cultivates a pragmatic, critically-engaged, forward-thinking understanding of the world in which we live. And that’s just for starters.
Legacy Christian Academy’s new Science Lab, which opened to applause this fall semester on the well-appointed Valencia campus, is just one part of Legacy’s Discovery Hall – a ground-breaking allocation of space and resources that has permanently secured the Academy’s nickname, “Legacy Tech.”
“With the addition of our new Science Lab, which is adjacent to Legacy’s Innovation Lab that we launched last school year, we’ve positioned our campus community for incredible success in not only the STEM field, but in life,” says Tim Borruel, Legacy co-founder and superintendent. “Today’s and tomorrow’s global economy requires engagement from innovators who can identify, address and solve problems that are complex and impactful. We’re not just ‘teaching facts’ in this space, we’re creating new cognitive pathways in the brain that will empower our learners to best adapt to an ever-changing world.”
“The Discovery Hall invites you to step into the world of STEAM and witness God’s creativity on display. It’s home to a king crab, a puffer fish, several seahorses and numerous fish and living coral. We even have our very own Nemo and Dory. We also have a tarantula, gecko, chameleon, scorpion, snake, several lizards and many more residents. Each unique creature magnifies God’s creative power in a very real way. The Discovery Hall is also a place where student creativity will be on display. We have added art classes to our fourth-through-sixth-grade weekly schedule in an effort to effectively incorporate Art into STEM, making it STEAM. As the year progresses, you will see selected student work and famous artwork along the wall,” shares Matt Millett, Legacy’s head of school.
Right now, you can book a tour of Legacy’s Science and Innovation Labs, as well as the rest of the high-tech campus. Call to schedule your personalized tour today at 661-257-7377.
