Teaching the Art of Medicine
Medicine is more than just science, indeed some perceive it as art. For the past decade Dr. Ingber at Dermacure has embraced that anatomy and artistry can be combined to achieve an aesthetic result that is both beautifying and natural. His patients leave with a youthful and more rested appearance. After more than 20 years of practicing facial plastic surgery, Dr. Craig Ingber started Dermacure with the patient and the future of aesthetic medicine in mind.
Dr. Craig Ingber and his team have been providing the Santa Clarita Valley with world-class services and patient care for 10 years. When posed with the question of why he wanted to practice medicine and why he chose his current specialty? He simply replied that from a young age he admired the work of close family friends that were physicians. Additionally, he stated that he has always loved the details of creating, fixing and building things with his hands. Walking into the Dermacure office, located in the Smyth Medical Plaza, one can see that every detail is carefully considered from the time a patient walks in to the end of their procedure.
The past several years he has taught future physicians and surgeons as a clinical instructor of surgery at both University of Southern California (USC) and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He has also instructed physicians and nurses on his injection techniques from Newport Beach to Santa Barbara and Napa Valley. When asked how is he able to do it all, he replied that he just loves teaching and has loved it since he taught as a water safety instructor for the Red Cross. Recently, his teachings have gone international.
For the past two years, Dr. Ingber has brought groups of Chinese Physicians and Surgeons to Valencia to undergo an 8-day dose of Dermacure Aesthetic. Here the doctors shadow Dr. Ingber in various aspects of non- surgical cosmetic medicine. The most recent group consisted of four physicians: Dr. Gu Feng Dermatologist, Bo Yaping Plastic Surgeon, Zhou Keru Plastic Surgeon, Cherri Tan Plastic Surgeon. Under the tutelage of Dr. Ingber, these medical professionals attended lectures, observations of injections and laser treatments, and observed surgeries at two outside surgical centers. The days also consisted of roundtable discussions and feedback. Dr. Ingber will continue to teach because he just simply loves to and plans for 10 more international physicians to attend his program this fall.
