Rubber Ducky 2017
Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers, Inc. just celebrated their 15th annual Rubber Ducky Festival co-hosted by KTLA’s Rick Chambers, SDFHC Chairperson of the Board, Gloria Mercado-Fortine, and Event Chair, Alan Ferdman. This year’s Festival was held at Bridgeport Park where hundreds of participants of all ages enjoyed a rock climbing wall, a soccer shoot-out game supplied by BlueShield of California, face painting by Cal Art students, art lessons, balloon animals, live entertainment, over 40 vendors and several rubber ducky races down a man-made water way. Lucky Duck Sponsors Boston Scientific and Kaiser Permanente as well as Shining Duck Sponsors Mission View Charter High School were on hand for their “Sponsor Spotlight”. SDFHC was fortunate to have some of Santa Clarita’s finest youth organizations; the ROTC, Sea Cadets and local Boy Scout Troops volunteer their time to help the festival run smoothly. SCV’s Royal Court was also present to serve as ambassadors, graciously greeting the public.
This event serves as the only fundraiser for Samuel Dixon Family Health Centers, Inc. — a nonprofit organization that provides quality and affordable healthcare, dental and mental health services in the Santa Clarita Valley with a special emphasis on the uninsured and underinsured.
