A water main leaked on McBean Parkway between Decoro Drive and Newhall Ranch Road.  Thousands of gallons of water spilled across the southbound lanes of McBean resulting in damage to the roadway and the closure of all southbound lanes. Valencia Water Company and their contractors worked to repair the broken water line, as well as complete the necessary repaving on the 500 feet of asphalt which was damaged. Residents were encouraged to avoid the area and use alternate routes. Safety officials cautioned drivers to never drive through standing water, as it is impossible to know if the ground is stable underneath.
